Meet Graciela Carlyle, Your Trusted Translator.
I'm Graciela (Grace) Carlyle, the founder and driving force behind GC Translations. My journey in the world of languages began in Argentina, where I nurtured a passion for English from a young age, starting private studies at just 7 years old.
After high school, this passion led me to pursue a rigorous 5-year translation program at the prestigious Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of the National University of La Plata. In December 1987, I graduated with a diploma equivalent to a Bachelor's degree, officially becoming a National Public (Sworn) English-Spanish Translator.
Even before graduation, my talent for languages was in demand. I honed my skills as a freelance translator in Argentina, working with scientific medical associations and private clients. This experience, combined with my family's background in the medical field, solidified my expertise in medical translations.
However, my passion for languages extends far beyond medicine. Over my 30+ year career, I've broadened my horizons significantly, acquiring extensive experience in technical and marketing fields as well. My dedication to professional development is reflected in my certifications: I'm a Chartered Linguist of the Chartered Institute of Linguists in the UK, a Member of the International Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters, and a Registered Public Translator of the Supreme Court of Justice of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
